The owner may be a bit peculiar, but trust me, the catfish here is unmatched in flavor and quality. Despite the slightly higher prices, the delicious catfish alone makes it worth visiting this cozy spot. Give it a try and experience the incredible taste for yourself.

No whole fish"¦. Filets mostly crunchy"¦little meat. Onion rings out of a bag"¦ hush puppies bland"¦used to be a great place "¦. Went to Fish Creel and had a great dinner last week!!

Service was ok, but it's not worth the cost a small fillet plate was $9.50. Tonight was surprised when it was $18.00 a plate for small fillet, same amount 1 fish fillet. Really, I understand food cost has gone up but doubled? There was 5 in our party, bill was over $100.00. Have there cost really double?

We had our family reunion there for lunch. There were 18 of us and the server that waited on us was outstanding she was accurate , friendly, and made sure that all of us got what we ordered and that we also had plenty of tarter sauce and plenty to drink. Wonderful food and service. Thank you all very much for a great experience.

The worst catfish I have eaten. Service was good. Environment clean. Just the food is over priced and way not worth it.

Newbern's is fun every so often. The catfish is the best and its the only place I've ever had frog legs.

Would not go back, ordered the cod fish, looked like it came from the freezer section of grocery store, processed fish, couldn't eat it. We usually go to River Bottom Grille, there is no comparison in my book!
