You won't need mustard for this incredible dawg, it's that good on its own. While I usually don't have it as a full meal, it's the perfect snack to keep you satisfied. Let's not forget about the amazing meat sauce that adds the perfect touch.

Johnnies is a slice of Americans that's been doing the same thing for decades, surviving while others have come and gone. four decades ago when JB Scoots was putting Albany on the National Music scene and I was the doorman, I can't tell you how many Famous musicians we'd drag dwn to Johnnies for a piece of Albany Americans. There was just something about standing by the sidewalk window ordering a plateful of 1/2 size dogs (yo could get 6 on a plate, as the woman at the widow, who may still be there, was a true expert at it)... where was I? Anyway after being backstage for a bit, someone in a band that just left London or NYC would soon ask... where can ya get something good and quick before we hit the bus? And off we;d go. Like some scene out of American Graffiti (pulling up or walking up to that sidewalk window and ordering a pate of dos as the Summer sum was beginning to lighten the sky... you might seen any number of local musicians... when Albany had a real music scene that just might get you discovered, Johnnies was the munchie spot... and even tho that time is now gone, Johnnies with its 10 stool counter and 3 tables... id still there, just the way it's been since prohibition and real bootlegging gangsters roamed Albany's streets, a slice of genuine Americana before burger joints like McDonald's and Burger King; and still making hot dogs that still such great memories every time i think of the place...Don't change a thing! Johnnies is history served on a aper plare with a sheet of wax paper and in ice cold soda!

I USED TO EAT SIX AT A TIME! OLD FASHIONED COUNTER AND AN AMAZING SAUCE, SIX WITH CHOPPED ONIONS! My mouth waters just thinking about them.
