My friends and I went to the Mountainside rest. for a girls nite out. The food was excellent. The place is clean and has a friendly atmosphere. The new owners, Tim and Cara Butz were there and made us feel very comfortable. The food is reasonably priced. I (and my friends) will definately be going back there.

After moving back to the Allentown area my wife and I were looking for a nice place for Thanksgiving dinner. The Mountainside was recommended to us by a few people who said the food was very good.
I remembered that the former establishment, The Captain's Table, had been a nice eating establishment.
However, after having spent more than $50 on a Thanksgiving meal that we never got to finish, because I went to the bar and paid to get out of there, I would tell everyone to steer clear.
While the food was good, the front house was terrible and we had a waitress who ignored our table in lieu of larger ones, never refilled our drinks and at 5:30 PM after a 4PM sitting, our main course had not been cleared away although we had waited for 28 minutes.
The owner, George, was drunk and obnoxious and didn't care about our experience because the restaurant was full for the holiday. The hostess was also hiding out at the bar, slamming back drinks-and paying zero attention to her job.
The Mountainside restaurant ruined our Thanksgiving.
