The Worst F-ck-ng delivery service 🚚 in the world !
I stay adjacent to their Eraviperoor cafe ( hardly 2 minutes walking time). Today is Easter 2023. I'm a regular client of Mathews cafe. When I was dealing with jacob I never had any problems earlier ! I placed an order yesterday for 20 roomali rotis since I have guests today in the morning. I was told by nigil that it would be delivered to my residence at 9:45 in the morning today ! No one is answering their phones, no delivery yet at 10.08AM & my guest's are here ! What am I supposed to do?
Now I'm dealing with Nigil (this is one useless guy to deal with, at least have some telephone etiquettes when you attend a call in the hospitality industry). Some guy who has money puts up a food joint in Kerala & thinks he's serving arabic cuisine or fast food bites!Mathews cafe is nothing but another malabari cafeteria in Kerala which far worser than malabari cafeterias in the gulf. Funny thing is I called up the delivery guy to get the owner's mobile number and the delivery guy (Jomon) says he doesn't know it , I asked him then how did He get a job here 😂? Pathetic Mathy cafe !

I went to this restaurant Thursday Feb 10th 6 pm the restaurant not clean this is the 2nd time with the same issue from the same person
Ordered pot chops and the line person pick the pork chop up with their hand and put it in the to go box
WHY this person has done this twice to me I complained at the register I told her I wanted new Porkchops but instead of throwing the pork chops out the girl working the register put the pork chop that was picked up by hand back into the pan on the line WHY you need to educate these people on cross contamination
EDUCATE YOUR EMPLOYEES

We go to Matthews once a week . Food is still good & delicious , but they've removed the pricing . Never know what you're paying . The owner used to have a paper placard at the beginning of the service line . It was posted for all 3 meals , but no longer -
I believe prices have risen , like other places , but we never know until the tally is made at the register. In addition , their trademark entree of fried chicken , is hit or miss. Seems like , with little exception , the portion pieces have gotten smaller , but not the price.
All in all, we still enjoy , but Matthews doesn't seem to be the value it once was...................

I just used the drive thru and got two dinners. One was completely missing the vegetables. That's almost a $5 charge. Had to drive almost 10 miles in traffic there and wasn't worth going back. Anyone should see the veggies are missing before they close the Styrofoam container. Did not see an email for them to let them know.

The day I last ate there was May 25, 2020. The day of my Stepmother's funeral. My Stepbrother and I decided to have a late lunch after Margaret's grave side service, so I told Andy to pick the place and he chose Matthew's. That day Hispanic women were manning the steam tables, and they spoke very little English. They couldn't understand me, nor could I understand them. The results, food that didn't match up together, plus very small servings for the price we were charged. I picked up the tab for both dinners, it was very high, and frankly, the food wasn't that good. I won't be back, that's for sure!

Have been eating at "Ma Mathews" for 28 years. Staff is ultra friendly and Owner is a delight to talk with. Everything on the linenis good but special accommodations to the fried chicken, black eye peas, squash, rutabagas and tea. I'll be coming back again and again.
