I was at the Osage Restrauant on July 16, 2020 at 5pm with a wedding party for a dinner party, and was extremely disappointed and embarrassed by the hostess when we were seated. They bride had made. reservations two months in advance for this special dinner, and we were treated with uncalled for rudeness. The woman who seated us was rude, unaccommodating, and disrespectful. I myself have been to the Top of The Rock, Osage, 5 or 6 times and have never been treated like this lady treated us. This was a wedding party of only 6 persons, and I feel we were treated like dirt! When shown to our table, we were told that they could only sit 4 people and that would not leave room for the other two. We had made reservations for all of us, and I understand that somehow the Osage lost the reservations, but when the staff was made aware of this, they were very accommodating except for this one person. We were told that they could not accommodate more than 4 people at that table and would not add 2 extra chairs. We were the only patrons in there at the time, and this server would not move the tables to accommodate us. so long story shortened, she sat us behind the fireplace with the brides back to it, and the rest of us got to look at a fireplace, that was not lit, because it was 989 degrees that day. I was so mad I would not sit down and the bride was in tears and thought that we should pay the pricey tab without complaints!
Well, I am old, and have never been treated that rudely. After all, it was my suggestion that eat there and take in all the beautiful views, and not of the fireplace and glass doors! I was ready to leave and a waitress approached me and told me to follow her to a different room. I looked at it and it was fine, at least the fireplace was at one end of the room. Our waiter did a fine job and that girl who could not be accommodating at all we never saw again. We had a great waitress who went beyond her duties to make us feel comfortable. The dinner was very nice and I cannot understand why this happened. It did spoil a perfectly nice wedding for two young people!
