My first experience at this buffet was decent, though it could benefit from a wider selection of items. While the food was good-especially when ordered without MSG-be sure to check your utensils for cleanliness before diving in!

Food took 2 hours to be prepared and staff was extremely rude!!!!
I ordered food from Marco Polo by phone to pick up on January 1st, 2015. at 5:00 p.m. The lady on the phone said that it might take a bit longer than usual as they are busy. I asked how long, approximately, and she said it will be about 45 minutes or so, but, that they can call me and let me know when to pick up. At 6:00 p.m. when nobody called us back, we phoned them and was told that it will be another 20 minutes and the food will be ready to be picked up. We went at 6:22 p.m. and my boyfriend was told he can pay as it will be 5 more minutes. I was waiting in the car, in the parking lot. After another 38 minutes waiting in the parking lot, I went in to see what was going on and asked about our food. The cashier ignored me...it was like I wasn't speaking English and had to note I was talking to her and then, asked to speak with the manager. No one answered and had to repeat myself, three or four times when a young woman who was preparing the orders started shouting hysterically and speak frantically, telling me to leave them alone, and just wait, as the manager is pregnant and working to get MY food. Another worker who was serving in the restaurant told me "Happy New Year to you, too" in a shouting voice. It was a nightmare....I was shouted on after I paid for my food and waited for it for two hours...it was beyond ridiculous. I was ready to leave...my boyfriend was mad and hungry. There were people around waiting for their orders, but the restaurant was not very full with people eating in... Our family at home was waiting for the order. We ordered for $70...so, it was NOT a small order. My boyfriend told me that there were three guys who got their orders and who ordered at 6:00 p.m. They were extremely unorganized and our order was not anywhere to be ready.... It took another 20 minutes to get it, with no apologies or discount for our inconvenience that we got our food two hours. I will never order from this place, ever again, and I would not recommend it to anyone to go through the experience all our family went in the first day of the year. No one should go through that ordeal on their own money. We gave them business and in exchange we got shouted on and were disrespected. Disgusting customer service!!!! They are taking advantage that there aren't too many restaurants in Cranbrook coking Chinese food, but they should not get any business when they behave this way to their own customers. I will complain formally and put my experience everywhere, so people can know what to expect! I wrote an e-mail to the Marco Polo restaurant, as well.
