We look forward to the Highway House on the way to our country retreat in Twain Harte. It's our pit stop we never pass. We've NEVER had a bad meal or service. The staff is very friendly and prompt. I have a few items on the menu that I crave. We look forward to stopping here every trip we make to our country retreat. It's the best beginning to our weekend.

Tonight my wife and I ate at the Highway House.
I had the pasta jambalaya and the clam chowder.
The clam chowder was excellent. It even had clams in it.
The pasta was good and spicy as one would expect.
The shrimp that was mixed in the pasta did not have the tails removed. Removing the tails after fishing through the steaming pasta was not an easy task.
This in itself would not be worthy of a negative review.
What really ticked me off is when the waitress brought my plate, she asked if there was anything else she could get me?
I said that I would like some Parmesan cheese.
She informed me that it would be a dollar extra for Parmesan cheese.
I felt as if I was on a Jet Blue flight.
The difference being that Jet Blue has to offset their rock bottom prices to survive.
The greedy bast#%+s at Highway House charge $21.95 for a plate of pasta jambalaya. Although just to suck you in they haven't quite got around to updating their $17.95 online price.
I will not be back!
