consistently good

The Chinese buffet at this place is surprisingly delicious despite its negative ratings. The chow mein is consistently tasty and the pepper sole fish is a standout dish. The variety and quality of the food make it a great dining option compared to other Chinese restaurants in town.

This restaurant is a small, unassuming place in the middle of a small town "strip mall", and I confess I have had only one of their selections, but the reason is because I have only been there twice and I am addicted to that selection. I first went there right before lockdown, in March of 2020. I had never heard of "cilantro soup" until then, but I love cilantro, so I ordered that, and it was bliss in a bowl, a party in my mouth, and kind to my oversensitive tummy. Then the lockdown happened, and I'd drive by and think about that soup. Recently, after undergoing cancer treatments for the past year, my digestion has been awful, but I kept thinking about that soup, wondering if it would tempt my appetite, and settle well. Finally, they opened up, and yesterday, I went over there to see. They brought me a huge soup bowl with a ladle and a small serving bowl. That huge bowl had four servings in it. They offered to let me take leftovers home, but as soon as I finished my first serving, I knew anything going home with me would be another order. THIS order was about to be slurped into history! My dormant appetite roared to life, and I sat there devouring it, groaning in pleasure as my whole body responded affirmatively at the cellular level, MOOOORRRRRE!!!! It was only as I was finishing the last serving that I thought to look around and evaluate the clean, tidy, warm atmosphere, the art on the walls, the pretty, happy plants in the window corner, and think contentedly about how welcome and appreciated I felt as they served my dinner up. I ate the other order for breakfast at home, and I'm off to order more today. When you're recovering from cancer treatments, anything your body wants MORE of is a great thing! I looked for recipes online, and let me tell you, those are NOT THIS cilantro soup. Too many ingredients which would add the wrong flavors. These people at this restaurant have THE recipe, and if you are in town and love cilantro, you simply MUST try this soup!
