The cozy kitchen at The Steam Donkey may be small, but the chef works wonders with each dish. The anticipation of the steam donkey ride during ski trips always adds to the excitement. Sam, the cheerful host and server, enhances the dining experience with his upbeat personality. The hot and fresh food, along with the welcoming atmosphere, make every visit a delightful experience.

The rack of lamb, was $35. It's since been reduced to $25. I don't know why, because it was worth $50. I don't know if they've changed the menu since I've been there, four years ago, but at $35 it was the best rack of lamb in Northern California. The food that comes out of that tiny kitchen is absolutely amazing and has been for the almost 50 years that I've been going there.
