My first experience with Las Margaritas in Waterloo, IA. pretty much echoes the latest review. Food was awesome (big portions), service was great, salsa was delicious (a little thin)......and the price was more than reasonable.
The only thing keeping them from getting five stars from me, is the "store bought" chips....I'd rather have fresh warm homemade chips with the salsa.
P.s.- the Margaritas were very good as well.

Am I dining at the same place as the above two people? My family and I LOVE Las Margaritas. The salsa is amazing (but too spicy for my 2 year old!), and we love the meals we get there. The service is very friendly and speedy. It's not a fancy place, but we dine here often and aren't ever disappointed.

We used to love this restaurant. On Sunday December 27th at 12:30 or so we had take out. My husband, my son and I all got salmonella poisoning. Absolutely awful. Will not go back.

This place has terribly bland Mexican food and even worse service. The one and only time my wife and I dined at Las Margarita's we were extremely disappointed and disgusted when my wife found a huge fingernail clipping in her meal. It was absolutely appalling, and instead of apologizing for the situation, they just made excuses. We paid our tab and left immediately and do not intend to ever return. Even if we had not had a fingernail in our food, the food was not good and salsa tasted like BBQ sauce.
