So, Saturday night my husband and I decided to go down and walk on the Battery and pick up some coffee and dessert while on the way. He googled some of our usual favorites to see if any were doing Curbside Pickup. Carmella's was listed and he placed our order online. BOTH Google and their actual website list curbside pickup as an option. When we pulled up we parked DIRECTLY UNDER the sign that says "Temporary Curbside Pickup". The place was absolutely packed with customers not distanced and not wearing masks, the doors were wide open so we could see how crazy it was inside (the main reason we wanted actual curbside pickup). We waited a few minutes and then he tried calling their number 3 times with no answer. I got out to finally just go inside, we had already paid online and really just wanted to get our order and go. When I got out of my car a man came out to bus the tables outside (not wiping of course, just clearing dishes). I said "Excuse me we had a curbside pickup order?" He responded with "we don't do curbside, under the BIG PICKUP sign inside" incredibly rudely and like customer service wasn't at all part of being a server. I tried to say it said online that they did and he said "we haven't done curbside in 3 weeks" like I am supposed to somehow know that? I don't work there and they have it plastered on the street and all over their website. I walked inside trying to skirt around the over packed masses of unmasked idiots and found the "big sign" and was greeted by no one of course. Read our name on a bag with my TINY cold cup of espresso behind it and as I walk out the same guy screams at the top of his lungs full of disdain and sarcasm to "Have a nice night". I was never rude, I never went "Karen" on him. I asked a totally rational question. We are all for keeping our local restaurants and bars going during this pandemic, for some of us that means only doing curbside pick up. From reading the other reviews rudeness seems to be a consistent issue here, but also their blatant disregard for the PANDEMIC that we are in the middle of. The espresso cake was tasty and we have enjoyed them food in the past under more aloof but less rude experiences, but this place will absolutely never receive our business again.

I ordered a vanilla chi latte
I received a dirty (coffee) chi
I sent it back n asked for water
I received a pot of regular hot tea
The pastry was good but the barista needs to learn to make a chi latte
