Top Reviews of Hill City Pizza

review_stars 06/05/2013 - R Harris
A group of friends and me went to Hill City Pizza on 5/18. It was Saturday night and not crowded. This should have been our first sign that something was wrong. A festival had just let out in the area, so every other restaurant was packed.
We sat on the back patio, and our waitress seemed less than thrilled to be waiting on us. The food itself was ok. My husband and another friend ordered nachos, and they were very dry. They asked for some extra cheese dip, and the waitress brought them a very small cup full, and said they were out. She did not even seem concerned. It was obvious that they really should have said we can't do nachos because we are out of cheese dip. Everyone else had good food (notice I say good, it was average for a pizza place).
What happened at the end of the night and following days is what really brought them from a 3 to a 1 star in my opinion. The waitress brought us our checks, and I gave her my credit. She returned with my credit card, and a receipt to sign, and I notice the amount had changed. The difference was less than a dollar more, so I did not want to make a fuss. My credit card was actually charged twice. I asked my friend if they had problems and she said no that she had paid in cash. When she told me the amount, it turns out that her total was the amount my second receipt was for. My thought, maybe the waitress just mixed up the tickets.
I called on Tuesday, and left my name and number for the manager to call. I made sure that I did not call during a busy time. I did not get a return call. On Wednesday, I sent a message on Facebook, leaving my name and number, and no one called still. On Thursday, I called again and left a message with a waiter. Finally, late that afternoon a manager called me back, and told me that I obviously had paid for both my meal and my friend’s meal. I explained to him that I had not, that my friend paid in cash and that it was probably just a mistake, but I had only paid for our meal. He alluded to the fact that this was not the story the waitress told him. Now, I was not going to accuse the waitress of keeping the money and doing this on purpose, but after my conversation with him, that was my new opinion. After speaking with him for a little longer, he agreed to refund my charges, stating that he could see I didn’t sign one of the receipts. That was two weeks ago. The funds have not been put back on my card yet. I called back today (also trying to call during a slow time), and asked to speak to the same manager, and he was not available. I then asked for the manager on duty. I was told the manager was unavailable, could I leave a message. I explain what all had happened, how many times I have called, etc, and was told that the manager would look into it, but not to expect a call back tonight. The manager was preparing for trivia night and would be too busy.
Obviously the managers aren’t concerned about good customer service, so I don’t know why she is bothering to prepare. The amount of the charge is not what is important. I will continue to tell everyone I go to never go there!
By the way, at this time, I will leave people's names off of my review, but I have all of it written down. I really would like to warn everyone about our waitress. I am sure she has done it before.
