The Mexican spot in Montrose is truly unmatched for fast food - just be ready to wait in line during the lunch rush. My go-to is the huevos rancheros, which are incredibly delicious with creamy beans and fresh chips. Don Gilberto is the perfect stop for a massive breakfast burrito, complete with eggs, potatoes, meat, and cheese - plus, the horchata is a must for the kids. The staff is quick and friendly, and I can't wait to try more items on their menu - especially those meat-packed street tacos!

DO NOT GO HERE I recently went before closing time and they got my to go order wrong. By the time I got home and realized they gave me the wrong item it was 9pm and they were closed. There was no option to leave a voicemail. I was aware that they open early for a breakfast rush, so I decided to call at 10am so as not to interrupt their busy breakfast or lunch. When I called, a lady answered. I told her that I had been given the wrong combo the night before, and that I would like either a refund or a replacement meal. She became very rude and stated that I should have called before they closed. I explained that I had gone to pick up my order prior to the closing but only realized the error when I got home, at which point they had already closed. She continued to speak to me very irritated and condescending. She said that I would have to bring the food (which by the way tasted HORRIBLE ----i had tried to eat it but couldn't) to prove to her that it was indeed their food. I told her that she could just have told me she would look in to the matter, speak with the evening crew and see if there had been a mixup. She told me that if I didn't bring the food back, she would not address my problem. I asked to speak with the manager. She said that she was the owner. She was completely rude and not interested in resolving my problem. So I brought the food back and was met at the counter by a young man. I asked to see the manager or the owner. He told me that he had been instructed to deal with me, and that I would not be able to speak with a manager or owner. He asked for the bag of day old food and handed me a handful of cash. I told him that the cash did not represent what I had paid for the meal, as it did not include the tax that I had paid. The young man stated that he was instructed to only give me the menu price and that I was not going to be able to speak with anyone in charge.

So if you want dogfood quality food, order the 'Superfries', and if you want to be treated like a criminal, unworthy of even common decency and professionalism Don Gilbertos is your place

I have been eating here for 10 years and the food is always hot and very tasty. It is a very good value for the price and the food is always fresh and the service as fast as can be expected even when its very busy. I highly recommend eating here if you are looking for great Mexican food in Montrose.
