DiRito's has a big problem. Some genius decided to dump a bunch of pepper into their marinara sauce, and has ruined it. It is so spicy that I can barely eat it, and certainly don't enjoy it. I can't believe it was always that way, or the restaurant never would have become successful. My husband is guessing that a child(ren) took over from the parents, and decided to join the new trend of trying to be macho by eating really spicy food. Anyway, DiRito's, normal people do not like marinara sauce with a bunch of pepper or hot sauce dumped into it. If they do, it is easy enough for them to add hot sauce themselves. We will not be eating there again. It is such a shame, because there is a lot to like about the restaurant, especially the olive tapenade that goes on the bread. Though the bread is not great either. Anyway, please stop with all the pepper. Pepper has no place in marinara sauce, other than a very small amount. I am giving two stars since red sauce is so ubiquitous, so it pretty much ruins all their food.
