This place was the place we liked to come to get a beer and a good burger after we came out of the mountains after a 10 day trail trip. Our moto was, sh-t, shower, shave, beer, burger. All of which we had done without modern convenience for a week and a half. This place would draw in folks from,all over Colorado and south Wyoming with its steaks, bar, dancing and of course the decor. A few times drunken cowboys took down the baby bears that stood on the giant fireplace mantle to dance with them. I heard someone once rode their horse through the bar area. It's sad to hear that yet another Gem is lost to time.

I have hunted in the area for more than 30 years. We always eat at the restaurant at least once before we head back to Texas. The food and especially the steaks are the probably the best you will ever encounter anywhere.
We love 'sleepycat' and recommend it to everyone. Can hardly wait to eat there again!
