As Ruben's grandson, I feel they strive to preserve the family's spirit and legacy.

As a descendant of Ruben himself, I feel a strong connection to the history and spirit of this establishment. With the passing of key family members, the legacy of Ruben's seems to be fading, but the dedication of the current cooks to preserve the original recipes gives me hope. The catfish and shrimp dishes remain exceptional, and while the hush puppies may not be as perfect as they once were, the overall experience is still worth a visit.

Great food, the one of the best steak that I have had, the grilled catfish is the GOAT. You better get there early.

I had the fish and it was the best I have ever had.

The food wasn't good. Management attitude was terrible. They still charge gratuity for a party of twelve even after you have waited and hour and a halve for a table and had to be split into a party of four into 3 booths. This is not the place to go for good food and especially good service.
