I have been to Laguna Reef a few times since moving here 4 years ago. The food was usually good and the service mediocre at best. We had some friends visiting from Houston and decided to take them there to eat on a Saturday night. We arrived at 840 and waited about 5 minutes to be greeted by a hostess. She said she would get us a table and walked away. While we were waiting, another hostess came over and told us that "it was 845, they would be closing in 15 minutes, and we were NOT getting a table. We should just leave." I have NEVER been told such a thing in my life.I also have worked in restaurants for almost 10 years. I will NEVER go back there again. Worst service ever!

I have lived in Corpus Christi; I know how hard it is to control bugs. I also have never eaten at a place that had bugs crawling on the walls. I saw one come out from behind a picture frame on the wall near the window between the kitchen and dining area. I got up from the table and told the person at the front door, then sat down again. She came into the dining area and I discretely pointed to the wall. As we both watched, THREE bugs came out from behind that picture frame.

The food was good, but even the grilled fish was greasy. If you are trying to stay away from fried food, skip this restaurant.

This place has a great atmosphere along the water and a very friendly staff. The Laguna Reef is a fine establishment to take your "winter Texan", tourist, or your average "Bluff Rat". What was once a whole in the wall at the end of Laguna Shores is now a gem. Last, but not least, the food is delicious!
Obviously their sea food is great tasting and fresh, and their burgers will simply amaze you. You have to try this place.

Although the food is good, I don't like their system of "double dipping" as it regards tips. My family and I ate there last Friday and, since there were 8 of us in the party, the gratuity was already added to our bill. However, when my husband gave his credit card to pay the bill, the receipt, the copy came back with the prior total (which had included the gratuity) and then a line for a tip, which would have been a second tip! I don't think that this is right!!
