The best of the best

Was surprised to see the negative reviews here, as we've always had excellent service and food at Tender in Frisco, and one of their other locations also. Visited today and got two lunch specials with brisket sandwiches. I got moist and a side of potato salad. Hubs got lean brisket and a side of beans. Both choices were excellent; but let me say, do not order moist if you only want a ribbon of fat under the bark. Moist means moist. The flavor was so good that we went back and ordered some brisket to go for our son. I did add some salt and pepper to my potato salad, but I know I eat too much salt. The free homemade potato chips for the table are always delicious, too. The staff check on you frequently, and the manager turned off a fan when he knew I was cold.
A great experience, and we go whenever we are in the area!

Big disappointment. Brisket was fatty thru and thru. Take out order. Got home preparing to serve dinner to a hungry bunch of 4 only to find after sorting and cutting away all the fat, a serving for one.

I am calling them this morning for a reorder and or a refund.

This is not their first review of dissatisfaction. KC posted a review stating the exact same.

Must be their standard practice. Certainly no way to run a restaurant.

'My wife and I had read the reviews and being from KC, was curious if the hype was real. First impression was confusion. There was a meat listed I had not heard of before. Asked the young girl at the counter what it was. Got a canned answer. "It is a better cut of meat". Hmm. Asked what does that mean and got the same canned answer. I'm thinking you have two qualities of meat? Curiosity got the better so i ordered it and jalapeno sausage and was asked if I wanted it lean or tender. I selected "lean".
I opted for bbq beans and potato salad. My wife ordered mac and cheese and slaw. This gets a one rating due to the fact that we got our order within 10 minutes and workers though not busy at the time were polite though in a hurry to prep us and leave. That was the positive. Now the rest.
The meat was very very FATTY. Not just on the edge where you would expect it to be on brisket. It was fat IN the meat, large chunks of it. I actually wondered if it was brisket. It resembled fatty roast. Tasted like roast and not like bbq. The potato salad was BLAND! It had a bland mayo base of some kind, the consistency of Mashed Potatoes and the only flavoring was snippets of scallions. Not truly potato salad. The baked beans were very good except it had way way toooo much sugar. Smoky, a little heat but extremely sweet to the point of being overboard. The sausage was average though respectable. Downside is it sat in the fatty grease from the "brisket"? The slaw was very average. The pineapple gave it an interesting twist but nothing to note as above average. The mac and cheese was totally LAME and BLAND! Kraft mac and cheese from Walmart has more flavor. Runny cheese i.e. no flavor. None. Very disappointed. Will NOT go back. Way overpriced for what we got and under delivers. Though we did our homework and did noted what the negative reviews stated we took a chance.
This would fail big time in KC.
Buyer beware.
