The brisket plate I had was incredibly tender and flavorful, with a perfectly seasoned bark that didn't even need sauce. Unfortunately, they were out of chicken fried chicken and mashed potatoes when we arrived around noon. My wife enjoyed her chicken fried steak and fries, and we both agreed that the buttermilk pie was a must-try dessert. The service was great, and despite the slight disappointment with the sides availability, we had a wonderful dining experience and will definitely be returning to try the ribs next time.

On Saturday evening at about 6:00 PM my wife and I stopped by Oak Acres to try it out. We had driven past this place several times in the past few months and it kind of reminded us of Weber's BBQ in Walnut Springs, TX which is the BEST BBQ I've ever eaten. When we walked in to Oak Acres I told the greeter that this was our first time there and she said we could sit anywhere. As soon as we sat down the waitress asked what we wanted to drink. We asked for Sweet Tea and she went to get it. While she was gone my wife went to the ladies room and when she got back she tasted the tea which was VERY weak and tasted more like dirty tap water. The waitress soon came back to take our order and we asked if they had a decent iced tea, that this was weak and not good at all. She said that she doesn't drink tea so she really doesn't know how it's supposed to taste. We requested some regular tea thinking that maybe it would be better than the sweet tea. She said ok and quickly returned with "regular" tea which was just as bad as the "sweet" tea. We couldn't drink the horrible tea. After a couple of minutes it was obvious that they really didn't care if we stayed there or not so I paid for the tea that we didn't drink and headed toward the door. When we were leaving, the greeter and a guy we presume is the manager were close to the door. I told the greeter that if the tea was that bad we didn't want even to try the food and we left. The guy didn't even offer us an apology. I recommend either to remove the tea from their menu or prepare real tea for the customers and not just charge for tea when in reality what they are giving the customers is basically dirty tap water. If this is the attitude they have I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. It seems to me that they don't understand that it's the CUSTOMERS money that makes their paychecks.
