Last night I stopped by Joe's Pizza and Pasta for take-out. I had phoned in my order, so when I arrived at Joe's, I went in to pick it up. I was struck by the fact that every person walking into the restaurant had on a mask, but none of the staff did. I was genuinely puzzled. After I paid for my order, I asked the older man behind the counter, "Why are you guys not wearing masks?" I thought he might offer some sort of explanation, but instead he began yelling at me.

I believe in supporting small businesses. I believe in supporting our local community. But I also believe that when we see something that needs addressing, we should speak up.

There is no reason to be rude to a customer like this. Also, public health guidelines for COVID should be followed, and Joe's definitely isn't. They have a record of mistreating customers and ignoring mask use, as can be seen in their restaurant reviews on Google. I wish I had checked out their reviews beforehand. What I do know now is that while the food is okay, their customer service and adherence to COVID protocols is abysmal. I'm never going there again.
