B&B is an exceptional deli that has a unique charm and character, established in 1922 and run by the Brooks brothers. The menu offers mouthwatering options like the Triple Cheese Burger and Dads Killer sandwich, and the friendly staff truly make you feel at home. Despite its worn appearance, the quality of the food is outstanding, making it a must-visit for anyone in the area.

My husband picked up a meat pack on Friday. All meat frozen. Thawed some steaks under refrigeration and they were gray! Tasted awful! Again thawed 3 lbs of ground beef for tacos and the minute it started cooking the most rancid smell came from it. Absolutely disgusting and a waste of $160.00!! How hurtful during times of food being so expensive as it is to get a rotten meat package.

Have been there 3 different times could not get anyone to help me. Went 3 times to give them the benefit of the doubt. Never to go back.

John took us behind the counter and showed us the meat locker and was very friendly albeit uncomfortable since he wasn't wearing a mask or gloves. Things really took a turn as John ranted about conspiracy theories while we were trapped in the behind the counter with him. After that uncomfortable incident John offered us a shot which we declined as, not taking off masks, gross unwashed meat hands. John began to get aggressive when we explained we didn't share his views and didn't wish to talk politics. We explained would like to purchase our meat and would be back again for a sandwich. John kicked us out and refused to sell to us. A truly horrible frankly scary experience. I hope John gets the help he needs. I would love to return to this local business when they are more welcoming and hygienic.

B&B is a great place to eat lunch. The sandwiches are great, but take my advice and look at the menu on the website before you go. It'll make ordering easier as you walk up to the counter to order your meal.
The service is good, the food is excellent, and the clientèle is diverse as it should be at a city deli. Des Moines is fortunate to have a place like B&B

B&B has the best sandwiches in Des Moines. It's hard to find a better place for lunch. This place has charm that you won't find at any fast food establishment.
