This place is very expensive for what you get. The meal was nothing special or the service. The seating in the place terrible they sit people next to you. They can hear your conversation and you can hear theirs. There are better BBQ places in town with better prices I will go there from now on

Altoona. Dont order the ham, turkey and bacon sandwich. This store must be out of product bc it came with one thin slice of each meat on stale bread even though the menu description states "piled high" w smoked meats. Its really just a bunch of stale bread.

Went early Friday evening about 5. Got seated right away. Drink orders taken served quickly. Food order was 1/2 slab and 2 meats of turkey and pork. Sides green beans, FF, coleslaw and potato salad. The order hit the table 5 minutes after ordering. That was scary. Took a fork of potato salad. Room temp. Cut up the ribs that felt pretty cool to the touch. They were about the same temp as the slaw and potato salad. Pork also was cool. Waitress asked how thing were. Asked her to replace it with warm or even hot meat and cold sides. Several minutes a guy brought it back. Pork and green beans were steamy. Took a bite. They must have dumped it into their micro wave because the pork and turkey was now crispy. Gut said he'd check back. Never saw him again. We ate what we could and asked for the bill. Waitress asked if we wanted a take home box for half the ribs, most of the pork and turkey and half the sides. I told her she had to be kidding. I've had great BBQ in Des Moines but never anything this bad anywhere!

The prices were too high. We ordered a salad and it came with the meal. Most servers know that you serve the salad first and then the main meal when the cutomer is finished with the salad. The pork tenderloins were bad. There was very little meat and a lot of breading.

Arrived at Jethro's, went inside through a large group of people waiting and was told "a 20 minute wait." I asked about the large number of tables vacant and was told, "we cannot seat customers at dirty tables.".......However, I counted over 50 seats at clean tables. Yes, over 50! Forty minutes later I left the restaurant through many customers waiting in the vestibule and outside the doors, many of the same tables were still sitting vacant. The noise level was terrible.

I went to Jethro's this weekend for my boyfriend's birthday. We had a group of nine and had the worst service ever. The server was very impatient and rude. She definitely did not deserve the automatic 18% gratuity. We will not recommend this restaurant to friends. I have been here numerous times and have never had a problem. My family and friends will not be back. Good food though, just a shame about the server--Laura.

Ordered the featured special of the blt. nasty. over buttered. the bacon was over cooked very very tough wasted 27.00 for two orders.
