What a great spot to get some burgers delicious or hot turkey sandwich with french fries. Travis has been around for a long time the people in there that work there are wonderful the people that come in there and eat are wonderful check it out it's good food and real food.

Stay away from this restaurant!!! Staff is extremely rude, dirty & disrespectful. Cooks cuss and yell at the waitress. Was waiting on a order of fries that was missing from my order. The cook threw the bag and said here's your f-ck-ng fries.
Try to call and place a order they just pick
Up the phone and hang it back up. The place is so dirty it needs to be shut down.

I grew up at Jefferson & Masonic, Literally lived at Memorial Park as a kid every day. I went to North Shore elementary until we moved in 1967. I have fond memories of the Shores. In particular, Travis's. My Grandmother lived on Colony and I took the Kerchival/Deanhurst Bus to her house each Friday for 25 cents. I spent a many years eating at Travis's. I went into the Air Force, made it a career and retired in 1996. I retired down here in Riner, VA (close to Roanoke) and have been here since. Every time I come home to visit friends/family, I make it a point to still eat at Travis's - sometimes 3 times a day. It's still the BEST, and so are the People who work there. I hope you continue to have many more wonderful years. You are part of the FABRIC OF THE COMMUNITY. Will see again on my next visit. You are all very special people!

Yeah, so I go into Travis hamburgers yesterday (Feb.2) to order a 6 pack of cheeseburgers. This 80 year old woman with some kind of disgusting white substance on her hands (looks like the stuff people use for cold sores) takes my order (with attitude) and the cook begins to cook my food. Then he got a personal phone call on a cell phone and the waitress takes over cooking the burgers without washing her hands.
Then she loads the burgers down with ketchup and mustard which I did not ask for.
THEN SHE STICKS HER DISGUSTING FINGERS INTO THE KETCHUP AND MUSTARD AND REMOVES THE ONIONS AND PICKLES AND WIPES THE KETCHUP OF THE MEAT PATTY AND THE BUN WITH A PAPER TOWEL!!!!!
I swear to God this is the truth, I'm sitting at the counter and she's doing this right in front of me and telling me about it at the same time.
SHE PULLED THE PICKLE AND ONION OFF WITH HER FINGERS AND WIPED DOWN THE BURGER AND BUN WITH A PAPER TOWEL AND EXPECTED ME TO EAT IT.
I told them I didn't want it and give me my money back and this old person starts going off on me like I did something wrong.
THEN SHE PULLS HER HAND BACK LIKE SHE'S GETTING READY TO SLAP ME!!!! SWEAR TO GOD THIS IS THE TRUTH!!!!
Then she's standing there with my money in her hand and decides to lecture me about patience or whatever and I'm like "why don't you just give me my money and you won't have to worry about it"! So she gives me the bills and i don't even wait for the change, I turn to walk out and she throws the a handful of change at my back and follows me out to my car telling me she doesn't like my language.
I call the manager the next day (Feb 8) and talked to "AMY" and all she was concerned about is me dropping the "F-bomb" after this disgusting waitstaff stuck their dirty fingers in my food and tried to serve it to me, and then acted like something was wrong because I wouldn't eat it.
I'm a veteran with 4 college degrees and I know the difference between right and wrong, clean and unclean.

EVERYTHING WAS JUST AS WE ORDERED IT
AND VERY VERY GOOD.
CAN'T WAIT TO BE BACK ON THAT SIDE OF TOWN AGAIN
SO WE CAN GO BACK FOR MORE.
