I am a local on Madeira Beach, so I have had the chance to eat at Lisa's Cafe many times. We hated the restaurant - Grecko Grill - that was in that location before Lisa's, because it was overpriced and the food was terrible; so we were happy to see a new owner take over the place and make such great changes. Here is my review: Service - At first the service was a bit spotty, but I gave them another chance since I knew that it was a new restaurant, and because even from the start the food was GREAT! By the second visit, the service had already improved and since then I have always had prompt, attentive service. Lisa, the owner, is always there, and she makes sure that every table is being taken care of. Atmosphere - Eclectic and casual, a couple of TVs are going but no sound. Very comfortable as you might expect from a restaurant across the street from the beach. Food - This has been GREAT right from the start. I have tried many of the items on the menu and they are all excellent. Here are a few of my favorites: * Eggs Benedict * Ruben Sandwich * Hamburger * Meatloaf special * Ribs Special * Tilapia * Grouper * New York Strip The quality of the food is due mostly to Chef Dave. Hang on to him Lisa, he's amazing! Lisa also serves beer and wine, and she makes a great cappuccino. Price - Lisa has a wide range of prices for you, from a $5.95 breakfast special to a $39.95 Surf and Turf, but most dinner items are in the $12 to $15 range. She also has a dinner special which Is around $9 which is what I usually choose Lisa's is a welcome addition to the beach and I strongly recommend that you give it a try when you're in the area. Lisa will be there to greet you and make sure that you enjoy your dining experience.

cold food, waited over an hour for food, they remade it in 5 min. Never go back is was the worst breakfast we have ever had and way over priced for what we got and told by owener how great it will be

I went to Lisa's cafe Monday morning and saw a line waiting to get seated. I decided to wait. I was only one person. Lisa began seating people according to the size of the parties.(big parties) One party after another got seated.... after about 6 parties being seated ahead of me.... and seeing there was an open table for 4, which quite honestly after waiting for a half an hour... Lisa, if she had any thought about customer service and not just her pocket, should have given me the table; instead said to my face.. "I can't sit you at a 4 top table" what she was really saying as the owner(cause she can do anything she likes) she was saying to my face "I WON'T sit you at a 4 top table. I was done. And don't show up without a mask.. you will have to BUY one from her. And don't waste your time and go there alone or even if your 2 people (she will sit the bigger parties first) for breakfast because it will be lunchtime before you get seated, and may be even not then, cause the lunch people will be there!
I would give 0 stars. But it didn't give me the option

Worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant and even the day after they will harass you about your review. I am writing this review after waiting 2 hours for food on my mom's birthday and with my pregnant sister on their hot patio. We never ended up receiving our food after a 2, 3, and 6 top received theirs who came in after us and they blamed the kitchen when in reality someone could have checked when they noticed we had been waiting a whole 70 minutes just for the food (as the owner states), and then when we did walk out she said the comment "I was wondering why you were still here" as if she expected us to walk out. Thank god we did. They might have good food but if you want to actually eat food don't go here.

Our expectations were very high for this restaurant as it was recommended by the condo we are staying at.
Bananas Foster was overly sweet, Eggs Benedict with crab meat was good but not great. Everything was good but nothing was great.We felt the price was high for average food. Four of us ordered and we all agreed that our food wasn't bad but do not expect anything special.

We visited Lisa's last year for breakfast when we stayed on Treasure Island. We were very happy with our meal and the restaurant. We visited again for supper this year when we stayed right across the street on Madeira Beach. The meal was excellent! I had Grouper Oscar and My husband had Sirloin Oscar, They were both fabulous! And their ice tea was excellent, too! I returned two nights later for a take-out order. The waiter remembered me and was very helpful. And the food was just as good!

I must say that I had the best dinner with my wife. It's was amazing to meet the owner and know that she grew up in Avenel as I did back in the day. The asparagus was awesome and seafood was just amazing and ending up with the chocolate cake was a delight. I will be back !!!

BUYER BEWARE. Very money hungry and pushy establishment. I have ate here three times before and the experience and the food was okay. The NY strip is amazing if they aren't out of it but everything else is just okay. The service was just okay too, not horrible but also not great neither. However, this last visit is what was the cause for me to decide that I will never ever in my life eat there again. Our waiter and the owner were unbelievably rude to my mother and me. They both lied to our faces and called us both a liar. The owner refused to right the wrong of the waiter. I have never left any establishment so upset. So upset that my business will not be seen there again. I was made to feel like my business was not important nor appreciated. I had plans of taking my mom there for breakfast in the morning but looks like I will taking her elsewhere.

Lisa's Cafí© was a very pleasant Groupon adventure. The place is not anything to look at and you could pass it by without a thought but Oh my, you would miss out on wonderful food , friendly service and Ben, a wonderful knowledgeable waiter.The food was excellent and Chef Ramsey would approve on the talent on the Chef Dave. Seasoning was right on and the grouper and salmon were fresh and tasty. Presentation was very nice also. We will definitely go back and will try to get our friends to go also. Word to the wise-- If you buy the "special" wine purchase and can not finish the bottle you can't take it out of the Cafí©. Rita did offer to save it if we were coming back within a few days. We will return!

We walked into this restaurant after touring John's Pass on a rainy day. The waiter took one look at us and informed us Lisa's was a fine dining establishment and gave us a menu to look over to make sure we wanted to stay there. We sat down and the waiter came to our table and placed the napkins at two of the places and threw mine at me since I was sitting in the back. He then offered drinks to the two guys I was with, but looked at me and asked if water was ok for me. He acted completely put off with us. His rudeness was so obvious my husband asked him if we were bothering him. They did not have several of the items on the menu and informed us they were not Lisa's favorite and they really didn't want them on the menu, and he said he didn't care for these items either. The food was good, an 8 out of 10, service was horrible, a 1 at best. During our meal we noticed a sign above the bar saying they have the right to refuse service to anyone....we wish they would have refused us!

I am a local also. Have dined here a few times and service was always excellent. The food was amazing. Crab cakes was my fav. I highly suggest this place.
