I absolutely adore the food and atmosphere here. The service was a bit lacking in attentiveness, but the view and overall experience made up for it.

What was a great meal and lovely service from Karen, our waitress, took a terribly dark turn when it was time to deal with the gift shop cashier. Again - only great things to say about Karen, who gave us her recommendation for lunch and who was just a delight. However, when we attempted to make conversation with the cashier (short, older lady in her 50s or 60s) she was incredibly rude to my wife and I. It was actually a little jarring how nasty she was to us. In retrospect, we decided she must be an incredibly unhappy person who resents dealing with customers and ringing up coffee mugs all day. We decided we didn't need any more interaction with her, returned our coffee mug and left the restaurant after paying. We are glad we supported Capt N' Cons after all this area endured from the hurricane, but we do not think we would ever return based on our interaction with the gift shop cashier.

The soups are delicious. We always buy extra to bring home. Fish and seafood is always cooked to perfection. We have been eating at Capt'n Con's for years. The staff is kind, helpful and accommodating.

Worst dining experience ever. Flies everywhere. Server kept apologizing for flies but they did nothing to correct it. Ordered flounder and was shocked when it arrived. Straight out of a box. Run down and should be shut down.

Food expensive, but good. Service staff not very friendly, and seemed to care less about their customers. $7 for a little cup of seafood chowder. It was good, but come on.

This UBER casual eatery isn't much to look at, but GOD, the food is GREAT! We drive an hour to eat there. Don't be fooled by the "seafood soup" on the menu. It's CHOWDA!! Chock full of fish and thick--but not wallpaper paste thick like some chowders we've had that taste like flour. After a bowl of this I never have room for dessert, but my husband manages to down a piece of the Peanut Butter Pie. I hate to admit it, but a forkful of that ambrosia forced me to hand over the crown. Best place to eat in the whole area! Matter of fact, we're taking friends there at noon today.

This is one of our favorite restaurants. We have NEVER had a bad meal. I have to agree the peanut butter pie is awesome. Usually we are too full to eat it there and have to take it home. Wonderful wait staff too.

I am a "regular" at this establishment. Seafood chowder, fried fish sandwich, and peanut butter pie are my favorites every time I come here. Some seafood is not fresh, but all is prepared( cut, breaded, etc.) in kitchen...with the exclusion of flounder fillets. I cannot recall ever having a bad meal here. Also, the harbor views and sunsets are exquisite. Most of the wait staff is friendly with very few exceptions which I avoid during the day. Owner is fun loving and a very sweet woman. I enjoy seeing her each time she is in town. For all major holidays, this restaurant decorates beyond your imagination. Christmas time is always my favorite!! Relaxed rustic island setting. Pay no mind to the posted 1 hour parking signs...they truly have no purpose and were not posted by Con's owner. If you ever recieve an "off" experience during your visit, let your server know and it will be made right on the spot. Very family oriented. Dining here I feel at home.

Con's is great. It is really not proper to lie on review pages of things you know little about. If you didn't care for something then have it taken back and replaced with a selection more to your liking. Now on to Con's. This charming restaurant lies at the opposite end of the island's other charming restaurant, The Waterfront in St. James City. Both are little local jewels that we local folks always recommend. At Con's order "the grouper special". It is not on the menu but what we come for. You will not be disappointed. For lunch try to arrive before noon or be prepared for a wait which really is pleasant enough anyway on a nice day.

If you think the food is fresh here, then you don't know jack about fresh food. And if you knew anything about the preparation of the food there, you would never eat there again.
The food here is FRESH, and delicious. Don't leave without trying the Seafood Chowder, and save room for the best peanut butter pie you have ever had. We take visitors here all the time and every one of them has asked to go back on return visits. It is my very "favorite" place.
