Went to TreeUmph and just saw this little hole-in-the-wall BBQ place on the way in. We were very pleased with our find! Food was great. Atmosphere was great. Only wish it was located closer to us.

One of the best dining experiences I have ever had. The owner does all of the cooking. Deep South is a very informal, laid back small Bar-B-Que restaurant. Clay, the owner, makes you feel at home with personal attention and conversation in his six table open air dining room. Patrons talk to one another like old friends. The food.........absolutely fantastic. I had a BBQ pulled pork sandwich with fries and BBQ beans. The pork was moist and sweet with a great sweet and smoky sauce served with it on a fresh kaiser roll. The sandwich was a meal in itself. The beans were full of smoked pork bits. The menu features BBQ pork, ribs, and chicken as well as steak, meatloaf, pork chops and sausage as well. There is a large side menu as well featuring BBQ beans, fried okra, fried green tomatoes and many more. It just don't get no better than this.
