Good place

My husband and I visited this restaurant last night with very high expectations. They have a banner outside their restaurant, proclaiming they are the sushi champions of miami, and have quite a few good reviews online.
We arrived at the restaurant at about 08.00 PM on Saturday. The parking is terrible in front of the restaurant, but the entryway is inviting. The restaurant seating area is in need of minor repairs, but the overall ambience is inviting.
There was only one other table in the restaurant and we were seated immediately. The server then proceeded to lug a large dry-erase board in front of our table and told us this was their specials. The specials were not explained. I found this to be very unprofessional and not a good start to our meal, but we were still excited to try their sushi, as we are sushi fanatics.
We decided to order a bowl of miso soup and tuna tataki as an appetizer as we looked over the menu. We also ordered one hot green tea and one iced green tea. After about ten minutes (keep in mind we are still only one of two tables in the restaurant and there are TWO servers working), our drinks were brought out and the server asked if we were ready to order. We ordered the sushi/sashimi boat for two.
The miso soup was brought out almost immediately. It was obviously from a powder mix that they did not dilute enough, extremely salty with a strange taste. The absolute worst miso soup I have tasted. I could only bear to take in about three spoonfuls before pushing it to the side. We were also brought our green teas a minute or two after the soup, which both were very weak and did not have the normal flavour that we love so much about green tea.
We waited another fifteen minutes for the tuna tataki to arrive. It did not look very appetizing, with the edges of the seared tuna gray and flaking, obviously NOT seared correctly. We still had high hopes, so we dug in. The tuna tataki was flavourless, overcooked and dry. Unlike any other tuna tataki we have had. My husband choked down the rest of the appetizer alone out of sheer hunger (we had already been sitting in the restaurant for over 40 minutes at this point).
The server came and removed the empty appetizer plate, however did not remove the miso soup bowl sitting at the far edge of the table (by this time, the soup was completely seperated and looked like a strange mix of yellow sludge and water with floating tofu).
We waited another twenty minutes (another table had arrived, ordered, and received their rolls in this time) before our boat came out. This appeared as a normal selection of sushi, sashimi, a JB roll and a california roll. The selection was edible and acceptable, but nothing spectacular and definitely did not make up for the long wait or horrible food before it.
Overall, this was the absolute worst experience we have had at a sushi restaurant. To come from the self-proclaimed "sushi champions", it was an utter disaster. After an $80.00 meal for two, we will never return to either Moshi Moshi location to give them another chance. With so many options in sushi restaurants in Miami, I cannot believe this restaurant is still around.
Don't bother trying Moshi Moshi, it is a waste of time (more than 2 hours!), money and aggrevation.
