Excellent

A coworker and I went to the establishment last week. We were seated by a very friendly waitress and we were seated. Looked over the menu and closed it! I already knew exactly what I wanted. Ordered the soft beef taco dinner, no beans and they substitute it with xtra rice. My friend ordered tostada’s and a taco! The rice is the best rice anywhere.
We got our orders and enjoyed eating in because we were tired from work but not too tired to eat ! This food was excellent!!!

I thought this would be a more authentic Mexican food experience. I paid over $40 and got A limp tortilla with a little steak. I was expecting a burrito. The corn tortillas were cold. Not a pleasant experience for the amount paid:(

Last 2 visits were terrible. I will never go again. They up-sell you like a used car salesman. It's obvious and pathetic. We learned this the hard way. The next visit we were ready and made it clear we didn't want cheese and sauce. When the burritos came, they were very small. They actually had a "baby" burrito on the menu too. Good thing we didn't order that. When I mentioned it to the wait staff, she had some lame answer about how other restaurants wrap their burritos or something. I had no idea wtf she was talking about. Then she concluded that "that's the way we do it here". No apologies or consolation. There is a Mexican restaurant on every corner nowadays. We will most certainly go elsewhere. And tell everyone why. FYI, the food was average at best, the salsa was like Campbells tomato soup.

I have had many experiences at this establishment through the years. I thought it comical at first that their "stamp out gringo food" motto was printed on t-shirts and matchbooks, both available at restaurant. The service used to be friendly and inviting 15-20 years ago.
Now, the women who have been there for years and years act like they are doing you a favor by deigning to take your order. I also felt like our waitress was making snide comment to another waitress about us. Also, the level of quality of the food has suffered markedly in the last 10 years. My guy and I would sometimes stop on Sunday for a to-go order.
Never again. This place has lost it's place in my list of restaurants.
The meat is bottom of the barrel with gristle in each and every bite. The caso fundido is the best thing on the menu, and really, how can you screw up broiled cheese with onions and peppers? Then, when I asked for corn and flour tortillas, I got three corn and four flour. So, to finish the appetizer, we bought more tortillas from local grocery the next day. The prices are OUTRAGEOUS, FOR THE FOOD THEY ARE SLINGING.AND I DO MEAN SLINGING. I don't want to be made to feel unwelcome at any establishment, and this one is the tops in that respect. They may say one word of acknowledgement to you, they may ignore you. When my last bill was 49.78 for two taco dinners, one order of guac, and one meatless caso fundidio, I was floored. Paid it, took it home, and then laughed becasue the caca fundido slopped all over the plastic bag they put it in. Another thing that made be an ex-customer is, instead of offering a after dinner mint, they have a bowl of last year's candy for SALE at the counter. I will not cross their threshhold again. I used to like the place, but it has gone downhill.
