I preferred the Villa Rica location, but since it's closed, I suggest giving the downtown spot a chance. The food at Gabe's Downtown was absolutely delicious and the service was exceptional - my friend and I had a fantastic lunch experience there last week.

Got the corn and crab bisque, should be called corn bisque, very little crab.

I lived in VR since 2004 went to Gabes Downtown for the first time 5/2014. Food was fabulous. The atmosphere is warm and friendly . Recommend you, your family, and friends go to this little close to home secret on the strip. Supporting Downtown Villa Rica. ♥☆♡★

First time here, not a pleasing inside, but the outside is very inviting. Small inside, but really needs a big face lift. Being from Chicago I expected a lot from what I heard from this place and boy was it. The food was out of this world. My husband had a steak (huge) done to perfection of what he asked. And I had the Chicken proscuitto pasta and it was heavenly. As was the fabulous Chicken mozzarella for starters, the fried spinach was a lovely and delicious treat. Now the service was not that great. We were not even half way through our salad when the meal arrived as the same thing happened when ..the salad arrived and we were not finished with the hors d' eouvre. The wait staff needs to get a clue, or better yet the owner Needs to hire a dining room manager that knows how to train the staff or keep abreast of what they are doing. The waiter forgot 3 times to bring our drinks and when he did they were for the table in front of us who arrived after we were there, and he said, " Did you order these." As I said the food is fabulous, but I would be embarrased to bring in our friends for dinner. And please add some beauty to the inside and add more tables and remove the oversized bar.

I just returned home from having dinner with my son and husband at Gabe's. I am not accustomed to writing reviews of restaurants we frequent as my husband is a chef (C.I.A. grad) and I worked in the industry for many years.

I ordered a Ribeye WELL done (crime to foodies, trust me, I have heard it from my husband) and it was served Mid Rare, I informed the server (who was well-knowledged) who promptly had it re-fired. To my surprise it was served Medium. I ate less than a third of the steak. My husband, who ordered his steak medium rare, was served a steak that was BLUE. He is not one to complain, especially after he had eaten the shrimp that accompanied his $35 Surf and Turf (shrimp and steak). He ate less than a third of his as well.

We were told by some girl, no idea of her position, that the manager/owner was not on premise but that they had taken 50% off of the entrees we did not eat.

The cajun eggroll appetizer was amazing as well as the spinach salad, bread pudding and wine.

Due to the total lack of attention we were paid during our entree mishap we shall not return.

50% off of entrees that were less than a third consumed is a slap in the face.

Businesses across the county are closing this is just another lack of customer appreciation.

Not cheap, but not mediocre either. An unexpectedly sophisticated cuisine with a remarkable range. The steaks are excellent...imagine getting rare when you order rare. Not common in rural West Georgia. Truly prime beef. When crab stuffed shrimp is on the menu, order it. You won't be disappointed. The specials posted on the entrance blackboard are truly special.
