My last visit to the Riegeldale Tavern has been a long, long, long time ago, however, you see I still remember it! The ambiance of olde English dining with a buffet of delicacies such as eggplant casserole comes to mind on a pleasant Sunday spring day. My parents and Grandmother had planned to stop there for Sunday lunch before heading on to Rock City. It was a special time, as a politician had treated everyone from the 7th District free admission to Rock City for that one particular day and we saw friends dining with us at the Riegeldale Tavern. Since then, I believe it has been converted to many things, but I always want to see it when I'm in the area and I would certainly go back to dine there if it came back with delicious food under fine management.

Lunch buffet was good. Chicken was not quite done but the pot roast was excellent. All the vegetables were really good.

Went the The Tavern Sunday (5/12/13) and it was not open--a new floor is being installed
How can I find out when and if they will reopen
I went there as a child a loooooong time ago
Have wonderful memories and I'd love to go back

My new favorite restaurant. I drive from Nashville, Tn as often as I possibly can to enjoy their steak, seafood, and veggies. The food is great with prices that fit my State employee salary. The service is wonderfully personal and now that I've frequented a few times, they're able to anticipate my specific desires and requests. It's a large amount of good grub for reasonable prices. And the owner is kool~there is no reason to travel to Rome, Dalton, or Chattaboogie...

Riegeldale Tavern is a gem in the Summerville area of Georgia. The building itself is a piece of historical architecture that anyone can appreciate. The service was quite good, especially since the restaurant was so busy during our visit. Fresh, local vegetables are served in homestyle recipes of creamed corn, mashed potatoes, collard greens, etc. The grilled chicken was excellent, as was the sweet tea, which is always a good indicator of a great southern restaurant. I would gladly eat there again!
