Far East is a family-owned restaurant that has been in business since 1987. Far East has a large menu with over 150 selections. We carry Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese, and a few popular Korean-style dishes. Far East first opened in 1987 on 28th and Clyde Park. We are now located on 36th & Clyde Park. We are very proud to be the first restaurant in Grand Rapids to serve several special dishes and soups such as our Pho Noodle Soup.

Good Food

The exterior of the business may not be the most visually appealing, but its traditional Oriental Chinese decor adds a classic touch. Convenient parking is available right in front of the building, allowing for easy access. Online ordering and payment processing are seamless, with accurate estimated time of food readiness provided, making the entire process efficient and user-friendly.

My Sister and I went here for the first time on Saturday. When I walked in the first thing I noticed was the décor. It was so pretty and so inviting. Next the waitress greeted us with a smile and she was very nice and sweet. The menu was pretty big for a Chinese restaurant. I ordered what I always do when I eat Chinese: Sweet and sour chicken with white rice. I had the crab cheese and won ton soup for my starter. It was so good. The dumplings were cooked perfectly and the filling in the crab cheese was perfect. The sweet and sour chicken was the best I have ever tasted and the rice was not over cooked like I sometimes run into. The only down side to Far East is that the buffet is not available on the weekends. Other than that this place is amazing and I will see myself going back again.

The best Chinese and Vietnamese food in town... I have been going for years (1996) and wouldn't change them for any other Chinese Restaurant... I especially love their Vietnamese Egg Rolls,Fried Rice,Cantonese Lo Mein and especial their Sesame Chicken... I recommend it to everyone that loves Chinese and those that tried it,Love it! Oh and I love the fast service&the waitresses are very friendly, with smiles on their faces always.
