Excellent food

The restaurant holds a longstanding reputation for its consistently satisfying and generous portions. Their Chaufa, Lomo Saltado, and Pollo Saltado are family favorites worth indulging in for a flavorful experience. The friendly service, pleasant ambiance, and flavorful dishes make it a reliable choice for takeout or delivery.

Best Peruvian restaurant in Connecticut. Food quality is amazing.

Owner is rude and seems like he is rushing your order

The food is always amazing. I have no problem ordering food in either Spanish or English as the service is always great. The portions are large for such a small price! Perhaps the Nicole that wrote a review was the owner of the place she recommended. I've never gotten ill and the place was always clean, but don't take my word for it, go check it out!

The food is HORRIBLE!!! I GOT SICK THE NEXT DAY..SAW A ROACH UNDER MY TABLE as we were eating!! they speak no english, And had no excuse for the bugs in the restaurant. NO PARKING SPACE!! Theres a better peruvian restaurant, called NICOLES RESTAURANT ACROSS THE MOVIE THEATER. Their food was delicious and huge plates plus a big screen tv. I RECOMMEND YOU GO TO NICOLES RESTAURANT FOR "REAL PERUVIAN FOOD". Its the best,

A wonderful place with wonderful food and very nice people. You'll start off with ahi, a spicy green sauce that you can eat with bread or put on just about anything. You'll want to order the marinated fish dish known as cebiche or ceviche - order the house special because it also includes fried calamari. Then for the main course . . . well, it's all good: roast chicken with fries, pescado sudado (fish soup), peruvian-styled friend rice with mixed seafood or with shrimp. Be warned that portions are quite large (and inexpensive) so either come with a big appetite or plan to bring it home with you. Atmosphere is very casual, very family-friendly.

Parking is a minor problem; get over it. The restaurant is loud, but joyous loud, not annoyingly so. Piolin is the real thing, an authentic Peruvian restaurant; I regret putting off my initial visit so long. Food was excellent; fresh and well prepared, plentiful and more than reasonably priced. Service was attentive and our waitress spoke perfect English and carried herself like the daughter of the owner; maybe it was pride in her workplace. Portions were very generous; beef stew ($10) was excellent; (mild) roasted chicken ($8/half, $6.50/quarter) was outstanding. Desserts ($3/each) were very good, but difficult to save room for. Definitely going back soon, even though it's a 45 minute drive.

My wife and I got sick for a week after we eat "cebiche". I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone, only if you like to be sick.

This is just a wonderful little restaurant in the South End featuring some of the best Ceviche I have ever had. I will continue to go until I have explored most of the menu. You can't go wrong in this place with Chicken, Beef or Seafood. The rice dishes are especially good as well.

I love to try different kind of food, and this peruvian restaurant is absolutely wonderful. Is a small and simple place, yet is a wonderful service and great food quality. The prices are fair, and for the ones who love paellas, the seafood chaufa is a great substitute, by taste and price! I understand that the parking is an issue, and maybe the room available, because is always packet of clients, but is because is a really good restaurant. But, in other hand, the size of the place is what make possible the prices of the food. For me, is fair enough! people can always ask for delivery or carry out!

I am a college student at Trinity College, which is only a ten minute walk away. I am also of Bolivian descent, and grew up on Bolivian cuisine (very similar to Peruvian) and this restaurant is truly a sanctuary for people who are used to Andean food. The food is known for its freshness and wondeerful taste. The service is impecable, although I must admit that in order to experience the full extent of their service you have to speak spanish. Only because the waitors are naturally more fluent in Spanish then they are in English. That is understandable, however, seeing as the restaurant is located in Hartford, CT. That isn't to say that they don't speak English - they are used to recieving numbers of college students every weekend. Besides the service the prices are also very feasable; I would almost say cheap - and that means something coming from a college student.

My husband is Peruvian. My kids (who are very particular with food choices) and I enjoy all the foods. It is one of our favorite restaurants. I have tried varieties of food here and everything is excellent. This is a restaurant that I wouldn't mind recommending to friends and families.
Parking is usually an issue to us and I am sure to many others. It would be perfect to have a larger restaurant with ample parking for patriots.
Thanks to all the CHEFS for making delightful meals to us all. Keep up the great work!
