The burgers here are fantastic, and I loved the cozy ambiance that made for a perfect late dinner after attending the CT FORUM. During lunch with a friend, I enjoyed an amazing Super Salad with a burger and perfectly cooked tater tots, and I can't stop thinking about that incredible fruit and nut salad with chicken and avocado that has become a staple for my nights out with friends.

Fantastic
07/28/2009 - Should stick with Plan A
I believe that people could get food poisoning there. I have seen the way they handle food in the kitchen and it is not safe. I won't got back. I have a feeling the positive reviews are written by the owners.

On January 26th, 2009 at 6:45 pm myself and fellow food critic entered this restaurant and asked for a table for two. There was no waiting and the women who seated us put us inside the bar area. The bar capacity at the time was about 70%. Once seated it took six minutes to receive a waiter. He read us the specials and said he would be back. Another six minutes passed he took our drink order (one soda, one wine). The drinks were cold and consumable. He checked to see how are drink were another eight minutes passed. He came and took our order and completed it 25 minutes after being seated. other parties had been setaed and waited on. The minutes passed, those after us received there food and ate - we were still waiting. Fifty (50) minutes after being seated we received the first sign of food and it was the wrong order. The women who prought it out apologized, the waiter who had waited on us said he was sorry, but... We said, we are leaving, which we did. We paid for our drinks (they did not offer an explanation, nor complimentary beverages despite the long wait.). The experience was simply awful, unprofessional and the manger (if you can call the individual that was pathetic - ignored us, offered no response or explanation). If I was the owner I would be furious. The place is a poor excuse for a restauarnat and tremendous waste of time and money. Perhaps if they change management things would be different, but until that time SAVE YOUR MONEY!

I agree ... thisbanked Hope. place is dirty. If you sit at the bar, I'd recommend wearing a mosquito net to keep away all the fruit flies in this place.

I've worked at the W. Hartford Plan B as both a host and bar back. While I'm none too fond of their management, the food is exceptional. There is nothing unsanitary about the food or it's preparation, nor any corners cut from delivery to plating. Anyone saying they "get very sick" when they eat at Plan B either has a weak stomach for rich foods, or they probably had a few too many tequila shots.
So, to reiterate: as an ex-employee, I have nothing but great things to say about the food. However, the owners Shawn and Al are assholes and have no respect whatsoever for their employees; they're simply looking to turn over customers and reap the benefits while keeping their own costs low.
Love the food, hate the management.

I've never been sick after eating at Plan B, which has been several times. Each time I've tried something new. More importantly, I've recommended it to several friends and they have never been sick, either.

NONSENSE!! I have eaten @ plan "b" several times with many friends and the food , beer and service has all ways been outstanding...
I work as a Chef and G.M and I'm not easy to please! The only thing I would be afraid of is people that write reviews about being sick and continue to return to the same restaurant!!!
05/11/2008 - I hate Plan B's food.
The beers are ok but everytime I eat there I get very sick. Maybe the conditions aren't that sanitary. I wouldn't recommend eating the food there.
