I want to give an honest review that hopefully benefits the rest of the world. Below is my experience.
When I first sat down and saw the menu I was hoping I was wrong but I wasn't. The prices on the menu for what was being offered were about double what I would of expected. Instantly that screamed tourist trap to me and I fully expected to be disappointed.
If I were to continue to be honest the food wasn't bad at all, but just what I expected. Overall I would give it a C+/B-. The problem was our bill ended up being $100 total (after tax & tip) for the following items.
- 1/2 dozen steamed shrimp
- 1 Cup She Crab Soup
- 1 Fried Catish Meal
- 1 Shrimp n Grits
- 1 Coke
- 1 Sweet Tea
For $100 that food should of been amazing, unfortunately it wasn't. It was just ok. The steamed shrimp & fried catfish were what they were. Not bad but at those prices I would of been happier spending $5 on a fish n chips meal from Long John Silvers. Not $25 for 2 pieces of fried catfish.
Next is the $10 cup of she crab soup. It wasn't
bad. Had a chance to be good but was over done with butter/oil. There was a 1/2 inch layer of butter/oil on the top of the soup, so most likely it was microwaved. I come from around the DC area, so I'm used to high prices. But even there a small cup wouldn't be more than $6/$7, so again at the prices being charged it should be amazing. Unfortunately it wasn't. It was just ok.
Lastly comes the $25 order of shrimp n grits. Overall price wise it's not to bad but it's absolutely on the higher end price wise for an order of shrimp n grits. I could live with the $25 price but as soon as it came out I knew what it was when I counted 21 shrimp in my bowl of
Shrimp n grits. It was filled with cheap farm raised shrimp. The sauce was just ok but I will give them credit on one part of the dish, the grits. The grits were extremely creamy & flavorful. Some of the better grits I've had.
Overall it is what it is but at $100 for the above just seems outrageous. Based on the quality of the food it should of been a $40-$60 meal. I would suggest spending your money elsewhere. You can find cheaper, fresher & higher quality.

The best food we have had all week. The atmosphere and service was excellent.
