I'm surprised by the negative reviews because my experience at Bubby's Burritos was fantastic! The food was fresh, hot, and super affordable, making it my go-to for delicious Mexican takeout in Jersey City.

I ordered lunch from Bubby's today. I'll never make that mistake again. After waiting over an hour for my delivery, I took it upstairs to my apartment, only to find that they brought the wrong order. I called to politely ask them to bring me the right food, at which point the woman on the phone set the phone down and went on about her day. After sitting there for 10 minutes listening to her walk around the kitchen, answer the other line, talk to people in the room, etc., I hung up and called back. I repeated politely that I got the wrong order, and would like the right order brought to me. She said fine, and she would need the old order back. Fine by me, I didn't want to eat the wrong food anyways. I sat there and waited ANOTHER HOUR for my food to be delivered (I live like 3 blocks away). When it finally arrived, I grabbed the wrong order in my hand to give to the guy, and went downstairs to get my food and the same delivery person was standing there. EMPTY-HANDED. I asked him what was going on. HE TOLD ME HIS BOSS TOLD HIM TO COME RETRIEVE THE WRONG ORDER, BRING IT BACK TO THE RESTAURANT, AT WHICH POINT THEY WOULD MAKE THE RIGHT ORDER AND BRING IT BACK TO ME. SO I WAS SUPPOSED TO WAIT AN ADDITIONAL, ***THIRD HOUR*** TO GET MY FOOD. I handed him the wrong order and told him he could tell his boss to go f*ck herself, that I was disputing the credit card charge, and that I would never order from them again. In over 25 years of ordering food, I have literally never heard of such a ridiculous thing before. All of the comments about the incredible rudeness and gross incompetence of the staff are absolutely true. This place should not be in business. Order from them at your own peril. You have been warned.
On a more positive note, when I got in touch with the great people at Eat24, they immediately refunded the entire cost of my order, they gave me a credit for the hassle I had to go through, and they will probably be delisting the restaurant from their website in the very near future. Thank you, Eat24!!!!

I think the food is appetizing especially their quesadillas with chicken. The only problem I have is the deliveries take a little too long. The customer service isn't that bad the girls are sweet and friendly when I decide to drive over

I used to love this place but the service has declined to an unacceptable level over the past year. They've screwed up orders apologetically. The delivery is completely unreliable. The coup de grace was being put on hold over 5 minutes where I could hear them screwing around in the background. Don't waste your time.

The food is ok, but the service is horrible!
The past few times I've called--I've been on hold for over 4 minutes. Also, they started charging for delivery in the Paulus Hook neighborhood which is literally a 5 minute drive from them. The past 2 times that I've called to order for delivery they told me it'd take 30-45 minutes, but instead it took over an hour & 15 minutes! Oh and the icing on the cake is this last time I ordered -- they sent the wrong thing (a chicken burrito when I ordered a vegetarian burrito--ugh!!). I'm so over this place and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. There has to be better mexican with a much better staff somewhere nearby.

we always order from Bubby's. The vegetarian combo plate is wonderful paired up with the extra corn tortillas, My husband loves the wraps.

Good food and huge portions. Very friendly staff and prompt delivery. The shrimp burrito is the best.

Great Mexi-Cali food, good attitude, and great prices. Try the Smoked Chipotle Hummus & Chips. Excellent!

Huge portions...good burritos. OK...not as good as the Mission District in San Francisco but the best you'll find in Jersey City. No tables, take away only so low score for atmosphere. The woman behind the counter is nice, friendly and cute. Try them out. Seriously...I'm a pretty good eater and a burrito from this place is always enough for breakfast leftovers.
