The food and service at Mama's Oven were exceptional, with fresh and hot dishes. The soul food brought back memories of home cooking and left me wanting more.

How a person is viewed says a lot about a person. I stopped at the ice cream shoppe next door to Mimas oven and there was a homeless man sitting on the sidewalk. I wasn't sure if he was hungry but I called Mona's oven and asked them to prepare a plate for him. I was informed they did not like feeding "those people" I was highly offended. The lady went on to say that they had other patrons to wait on who were paying customers. I had already told the individual that I was paying and to prepare him their oxtail special. She said we have a cheaper meal that I can fix but she would not give it to him. Now I'm pissed. I'm handicapped and all she had to do was give the man the food that I was paying for. He is still somebody's child. I hope whomever reads this review will consider NEVER NEVER NEVER dinning at this place again.

Mamas food is so delicious! I've tried a variety of food and it's the best!
But the wait is too long so if you're in a hurry forget it. Order, sit back and relax.......
The good thing is that the fried pork chops and fried fish is cooked to order.

We were told by the front desk of our hotel, that Mama's Oven is the place to go for some delicious soul food. He was right!!! I had the smothered turkey wings, cornbread stuffing, yams. My daughter had oxtails mac and cheese yams and green beans. My granddaughter had chicken wings mac and cheese and yams. We also had corn muffins. If I come back to Houston. I will make it my business to get my grub on at Mama's Oven.

Went there on Sunday and we waited a hour and a half for food which was nothing to brag about. Salt seems to be their seasoning. They are so unorganized. We will not go back. I will be going to my own mama's oven/kitchen.
