If you want to experience the BEST BBQ in the entire US, Mary's is it! This is a quiet country setting with lighted, outdoor picnic tables. A beautiful cold water spring flows besides the outdoor seating. The food, no matter what you choose is terrific. Worth the drive, no matter where you are from. I used to ride my horse there and enjoy a BBQ sandwich seated at the picnic tables!

I was still a young man when I first visited Mary's BBQ. I had moved to Gurley at age 13 (1965) and when my father and I first encountered Mary's shortly thereafter having gone by many times, we were hooked. We later moved to Hazel Green and had to make the drive once and awhile to get our Mary's fix. After I graduated from Hazel Green HS in 1972 I went back to my home in Seattle Washington and into the Army. In 2012 I attended my 40th high school reunion in Hazel Green and before I returned to Washington I had to go see if I could find Mary's BBQ, sure enough, to my amazement, it was right where I left it. It looked absolutely the same inside and out, and the food was the same outstanding BBQ that I had remembered. I have, to this day, never found a BBQ place that could equal the splendor of a Mary's Pit BBQ sandwich.

Every time I'm near May's, I have to stop in and have one of their pork sandwiches. Absolutely delicious and up there with the best anywhere.

Been eating food from Mary's for 30 years at least. Have had BBQ from Alabama to New England and Mary's is

the very best! None like it.

Best BBQ in Madison County (get the pulled pork) and you can smell the cooking a mile away on a good day! The building is a little bit rough, bu the "patio" is a picnic table under large trees, next to a sparkling spring. It doesn't get better than this.

Just a few miles off Highway 72 and worth the trip. Surprised at how the place had probably not changed since built in 1958. A true BBQ joint. We sat at one of their picnic tables next to a natural spring and enjoyed our pulled pork sandwiches. Delicious!!!

Wow! My gps had to find this place for me. I had a pulled pork sandwich with hot/sweet vinigar slaw, a bag of Golden Flake chips and a big sweet tea. Loved it! The place feels like a step back in time. Old school BBQ joint with six stools at indoor counter. We ate outside at one of there new picnic tables and watched two baby racoons play in a nearby stream. I feel like writing a screenplay about the whole experience
