05/27/2021 - I hope the ice tea was worth it
I was in there last night. This is the worst experience I've ever had anywhere. We've been many times before, I'll guess 15 to 20, and it's been up and down. The staff has always been really friendly. We live locally. We never bothered to complain until yesterday. We weren't even looking to complain yesterday, we just wanted an order taken off due to two mistakes on the same order and we just didn't want to hang around for the third try. The other party was already 3/4 finished. The server had to get her manager to remove the charge. The manager kept going round and round, trying to get us to purchase the food, and we just wanted to leave. I kept saying, we've been here a while and we need to get home and I just don't want the burger anymore, (it was old).
Then, she charged for the partially consumed iced tea that was ordered to go with the meal. That was the icing on the cake. All I said to the woman was "seriously?" It was so tacky to have charged for the iced tea after about an hour of being there and not getting my meal, no apology for the two mistakes, excuses.
Next, no one would come to collect our money and there's no register to pay at. After another 10 minutes waiting to pay, I walked in, to see if we could just pay and leave. The manager was chatting away and was extremely nasty when I approached her. Stuck her tongue out at me, it was so juvenile. I called her a "b" walked away.
Then, I paid, called her a "b" again and left. I have to be really angry to do this. I snapped a picture of the tattooed lady with flub hanging over her sides, and a tank top on. Sleeve of tattoos. Are we grabbing "managers" from the bar stools now? She looked unbathed, and I'm guessing a few cocktails were in her, and why the stick the tongue out at the customer. I wasn't happy about the mask thing, they said the staff wears masks and hers was definitely hanging from her chin. The rest of the staff were wearing theirs.
Spoke the owner Vince on the phone this morning after leaving a message for him to call me, I thought he would be interested in what had occurred, he had about the same level of social skills as his manager. I imagine she knew her job was safe, and why the behavior.
I was feeling pretty bad for having lost my temper and leaving a lousy Yelp review, so I wasn't even mad when he called. He started out with, this is all over a piece of cheese, and carried on. A stream of profanities, couldn't get a word in, typical Fredo stuff, called me a Social Justice Warrior, I hung up the phone.
