If you are looking for a place that serves homemade, feel-good food, this is it! I had the cheesy chicken soup, It was so velvety and a bit non-traditional. It had several varieties of vegetables in it, but that only helped add to its rich and delicious flavor. My mother had the egg salad sandwich with a side of coleslaw. I was fortunate enough to get to taste them both. By far THE BEST egg salad and cole slaw we have both ever eaten. The egg salad had large, delicious chunks of eggs. The cole slaw was creamy and sweet. Had we not been in a hurry to get back to Indianapolis that day, we would have both taken some of each home with us.
My advice: When in Monticello, stray away from the typical fast food places that abound. Give this locally-owned establishment a try. You won't be disappointed!
