Dimaggio's in Carmi has been a local favorite for 40 years. The pizza is unmatched, with a thin and crispy crust, mouthwatering sweet sauce, and a variety of flavorful toppings. The family-run business is a gem in the small town, offering authentic food with no cut corners, including delicious pasta and subs.

Best pizza around!

I was a bit disappointed that there were not more restaurants in town. However, I have to say that ordering DiMaggios pizza was a surprise. The pizza that arrived, hot, full of toppings - was the best pizza ever. It was so GOOD - it brought tears to my eyes.

I would actually rate the pizza as "good". I don't like the star rating above which says three stars is "Just okay" and four stars is "very good". That is quite a jump. I would say the pizza is better than Pizza Hut but hardly the best pizza in Southern Illinois. I wonder how many of the really good pizza places in the entire southern end of the state people who said that have actually eaten. Anyway, if you are in this portion of Southeastern Illinois there is not a lot of really good pizza so it is some of the best pizza around. It's worth a taste if you are a fan of pizza. When I moved to Carmi it took me some time to really acquire a taste for it, but in general now I like it. The rest of the food there is good too. They do have quite a few choices. So, if you are in town I recommend it. However, if you are far away I wouldn't recommend driving an hour or more just to eat it.

I have to agree with Jill. The people or should I say teenagers that they choose to let run there business are very rude and entitled. As is most our youth today! I'm a woman who spent most of my youth as a waitress and I'm very particular about treating whoever waits on me with respect and understanding. And every time I've been in there every waiter I've had has been rude, slow, and barely out of there teens more worried about the latest gossip at the high school than treating customers with respect and doing there job. Jill I thank your son for the service he's done for our country. And Emily you should be ashamed of yourself.

Though the food is amazing, I have to agree somewhat with Jill. The staff (not just the waitresses) seem to have a problem with making fun of their customers. I have had a similar experience on a visit there and though I will eat there again (as I said I love the food) I will not dine in or promote their business. As far as the post about how you solve your problems Jill, ignore it. It was probably her daddy trying to defend her :)

I had dinner the other night at dmags and I happened to have this emily as a waitress. and I will have to strongly disagree, jill, if you will, she was one of the most delightful waitresses ive ever been served by. I think it was selfish and dramatic and you to post this about a young teen who may have not even been looking at your sons military glasses. I understand people have bad days but if this is how you choose to handle your problems, take it to someone you know wants to hear it. and as for dmags, absolute best cookin in town!

My son and I ate at this DiMaggio's on Dec. 23rd, 2010. Our waitress took one look at his military-issued eyeglasses and got an amused look on her face. She took our drink order, then went straight back to the counter and POINTED HIM OUT to one of her co-workers, who then walked out into the restaurant, looked at him, then went back and smiled at our waitress. Now, if this wasn't the rudest thing I've ever seen--there was only one other table occupied, so I guess they had plenty of time to make fun of their customers. The glasses are not attractive, and my son hates them, but I would like to think that while our soldiers are fighting for our freedom, the part-time waitresses at pizza places would have enough respect to cut them some slack. She then proceeded to keep us waiting 15 minutes before taking our order--said she "forgot all about" us. While the pizza and sandwich were delicious, the service left a LOT to be desired. Thanks, Emily, for a terrible experience at DiMaggio's in Carmi, IL.

Best thin crust pizza ever. However, if you don't like sweet sauce you can order your pizza without it which is what I do. Terrific!

Excellent restaurant, We drove an hour from Evansville just to eat there. As for the person that went to pizza hut, not to smart.
