Not James Beard Award worthy. Chicken was just okay.

We love out of the way small towns and diners or pubs that are famous for home made specialties. We visited here because so many people have recommended the chicken. I will say that was very tasty, but the mashed potatoes tasted like instant potatoes and the green beans had a canned flavorless taste and texture. The coleslaw and crackers were decent and we snacked on that while we waited for the chicken. We heard others getting dinner rolls but we didn’t ask because it seemed like it was only maybe for people who had been waiting for a long time who were getting restless. A fried half chicken was the only entree on the menu and came with the sides. You could get fried pickles, fried mushrooms and a couple of other breaded fried things for an appetizer if you were hungry and needed snackage. But those were literally the only options. Full chicken dinner or fried appetizers. Oh and the unique draft beer was very good. I’m glad we visited for the fun of having the legendary chicken, but it’s probably a one and done experience for us. The tiny town is cute and offers a small antique store with ice cream parlor inside. Beautiful scenery and a breathtakingly lovely old church in the center of town.

The food is good but the service sucks. They’re 3 1/2 hours after two hours. We finally asked sitting at our table if we could just get our drinks one waitress in there all she does is badmouth the rest of them that like everything is left on to her need better management definitely

We ordered a two piece family meal brought a whole chicken for two people out and a big bowl of green beans ,mashed potatoes and gravy ,we asked for the two rolls that we didn't receive. Our waitress was very unattentive. She got mad when we asked for our coleslaw and crackers after the fact she said she would be right back out with them. Then she refused to wait on us and had the bartender wait on us.. but I might add the food was great .

Every time I go here the food is to die for. Definitely the best pan chicken in southeastern Indiana. The family that runs it are very friendly. Will go back again

Ordered the fried chicken, french fries and a cold bottle of beer. Love their seasoning on the chicken. Not sure what their secret recipe is. The fries were crinkle cut and I prefer shoe string. Tried some mash potato too. Was just OK. The chicken is the main attraction.

Not a good experience. Took awhile to take our drink order, then took over 30 minutes to get our food. Much too long for just okay food. Notice all other table around us received a large bowl of coleslaw with crackers, we got my side order of coleslaw and crackers just before our full food order arrived. Paid up at bar, no thank you, no how was your food, nothing.
