Stopped by this place for breakfast on a Sunday morning while driving down I35, arriving around 11.15 to beat the church crowd and avoid waiting for a table. The friendly and attentive waitress served our food quickly, and the delicious French toast and perfectly cooked omelette made for a satisfying meal at a reasonable price.

I was here about 5 yrs ago and I thought it was decent back then. This time is completely different. I was traveling thru and spent the night at a nice local motel and came here for breakfast before hitting the road. It was hard to even give it 2 stars. They had a breakfast buffet for $12 and was suggesting that. I travel alot and stay in lots of hotels that offer breakfast and I've had better at a hotel than here. It was not worth the money. Bacon was under cooked, sausages didn't even look like they were cooked. Other than the egg & ham bake, I'm guessing either Chef Mike cooked most of the food or it was made up ahead of time and frozen. Pretty much everything was cold like it came out of the fridge.
Other than the food, the wait staff seemed nice. There used to be a cash register by the door and that was gone. An older lady that was seating people and helping clean tables mentioned that "they" took the cash register away and the waitress takes care of you bill at the table. I paid cash and she had a pouch with money in it and made my change at the table. I couldn't see anywhere they would go to process a CC.
My recommendation is to find another place to go. The food wasn't that great, over priced for what it was and I just have a hard time trusting a place that doesn't have a dedicated cashier. Any good reviews of this place are as old as 2008 and can't find any 2022 reveiws. I'm guessing the place has changed hands and not for the good.

Very slow service! Burned hash browns and toast. Cold eggs. No time to complain and return food as we were held up so long with poor service. YUK!

Thank God Mosaic employees told me about your Restaurant. For a year I was taking my disabled sons to the Casino buffet and it was some of the worst food imaginable. A week ago I was told about Family Table and took my son there today. He is a Down "man" and low functioning, he was Welcomed with a Smile (Thank You). I ordered him the Nacho Plate.........OMG! it was a Platter, heaped with 3 or 4 kinds of nacho chips, then loaded with ground beef, chopped olives, jalapeno peppers and covered in melted cheese, there was probably more ingredients but he didn't give me a chance to see them, it came with a bowl of delicious salsa and a bowl of sour cream. I am not a big eater so I ordered poached eggs, wheat toast and an order of fries (they serve eggs etc. ALL day). Lordy the fries came in a basket (a meal by themselves) they were hot, crispy and perfect, the poached were just how I like them. Our waitress was a Princess, a younger woman who made our visit Special.

This place is a must stop on your way along I-35 throgh southern Iowa. Great tasting food and generous portions. My favorites are the broasted chicken and hot sausage sandwich!!!! Oh did I mention the breakfast with hash browns crunchy and hanging off the plate. Don't forget the cheese sauce and onions. If you like good food, don't miss this one!!!
