Sadly, this place is closed. It will be a microbrewery.

I have been traveling through Amana since I was a kid. I am retired now. This is the best German/American food. It is served family style I love the Swiss Steak. Order it most of the time. Their all you can eat breakfast is the best anywhere. Wish they were in K.C.
04/23/2009 - Colony Inn Amana Iowa
We have eaten here several times in the past years. the biggest gripe is the lack of side dishes, like Pickled Beets, German Potato salad, corn, etc. One of my favorite meals is SauerBratten, but it is No longer available. Desert was a very skimpy portion .
The Swiss steak, although not real swiss steak, was good tasting. The mashed potatos were good, beans were execellent.
We will Dine at another restaurant next time we come through the area. The Colony Inn has gone way down hill, way too much. Five years ago it was super good, but not now!
