The southern food here is a bit on the pricey side, but it's worth it for the variety and seasoning. The construction going on didn't affect the service or ambiance, which was nice. The old country store vibe is cool, with a great buffet and delicious cornbread patties.

December 2021

I don't know where to begin.I've been using their catering service for several yr. This yr my turkey and dressing didn't have turkey in dressing. I called several times no one called me back. I went to restaurant got problem resolved. Won't go into all the detail with this but got gift card for $32. Three days later I got a bad result from my doctor so I decided to treat myself. I went to Old Country Store to shop in boutique. I picked up 2 pair of earrings $6.99 8.99. I found t-shirt for my Daughter $24.99. I came across another t-shirt the sign said $28.99 for med-xl $33.99 for 2xl-3xl. I got a xl but the tag said $33.99. I ask saleclerk to ck price. It rung up $33.99. I showed the clerk the sign. She agreed that's what it state. This lady walks by and the clerk told her what happen. The lady which I later found out was the owner of Old Country Store Brooks& Shaw's. She immediately took down the sign and said the girl didn't change the sign. She also said as she was walking off, if you want the shirt you pay $33.99. I was saying that's your employee fault not mine. She never stopped walking off or replied to me. It was like I wasn't even standing there. The sale clerk was really nice. She knew I was upset because I looked up toward the ceiling and started to pray. I've never experienced an owner that rude. The saleclerk said I understand and u should get the shirt for the price shown on the sign. I asked the clerk to give me a pair of scissor. This big guy came past and the clerk said that's her son Brooks. I was like may i have a pair of scissor. The clerk had Brooks to come out. I told him about me using them for my catering service for several yr. I told him about what happen this Thanksgiving with my dressing. I preceeded to tell him about this ordeal. His response was the t-shirt is $33.99. If u want it that's what it will be. I asked him for scissor to cut up the gift card. Do u know what he ask me to do? His response was just give me the gift card I will take care of it. I wanted to say so bad DO U THINK I'M STUPID GIVE U GIFT CARD WITH MY MONEY ON IT FOR U TO KEEP MY MONEY! But by the grace of God I stayed calm and asked for a pair of scissor. I got the scissor cut up the card in front of him. I gave him the 2 pair of earrings I was going to purchase. I had set them to the side with the t-shirt for my daughter. I forgot to give him the t-shirt but I'm sure he saw it misplaced where I picked up the earrings. I was going to spend additional $40 plus the $32 gift card. When I lift Brooks said have a nice day.My reply was you do the same. I will never step foot in that place again. I told my husband he told several of the guys he worked with what happened and for them to share with their spouse. I'm telling everyone about my experience. I went there to relieve some stress from my bad doctor results. Shopping is my stress relief it wasn't that day at Brooks & Shaw's Old Country Store!
