This brunch spot offers a diverse menu featuring everything from omelettes and egg Benedict to burritos, waffles, and lunch options like sandwiches and bowls. While some dishes, like the California omelette and almond croissant, fell short of expectations, the standout items such as the French Toast and Southern Pepper Egg Croissant, along with excellent service, contributed to an overall enjoyable dining experience.

Excellent food

I think Beechwood has one of the best brunches in Jersey City. Not only is the food very fresh and cheap, the staff is friendly and helpful. I highly recommend the Chiles Quiles!

i've never been to beachwood and was wary of going for brunch here today after reading the reviews here but decided to give it a try.
we walked in and the three waiters standing by the door looked at my party, and walked away. we had to flag down a waitress flying by us to learn we could seat ourselves. the brunch menu does not have much variety, and it seems they just rearranged the same few ingredients to make new "meals." the food was tasty, but really nothing special. i felt the menu is overpriced.
our waitress never came by to check up on us until we had already finished our meal, and was pretty much running away in the opposite direction while asking us how everything was going. also, we had to keep flagging down the food runners so we could get refills on coffee and water since our waitress ignored us the entire time.
so in end, the food was decent, service was poor, decor was nice, and the atmosphere felt cold. i doubt i will ever go back.

My wife and I have been eating at Beachwood Cafe once or twice a month since we moved here 2 years ago. This place has a nice vibe but it's always been hit or miss. Two years ago they had a terrific, hard working manager (Young) but she was fired and was replaced by a self important asian guy who didn't know how to run a restaurant (he's since been fired), or respect his customers.
Last weekend we stopped in and the waitress at the door just eyed us, never said a word and turned away. When I asked her for a table, she turned around and pointed to an empty table. The same waitress took our order: the food was good as usual, but she never returned to our table to refill our coffee or to ask us if we needed anything. Not once. And when we finished our meal we attempted to get her attention but she avoided our table. The restaurant was not that busy, and I had to get up and go and ask for it! We didn't leave a tip and I'm not sure if we will return? Eating at a restaurant is supposed to be an enjoyable experience. Maybe this woman doesn't like white people? There are not a lot of choices in JC, but The Lighthorse Tavern we discovered is the best restaurant in JC to go to for weekend brunch and dinner.

I go there everyday. I always got good service there. Fernanda is one of the best.

Although the place had very nice out door seating the food and service were terrible. It took for ever for a waitress to take our order, and when the food arrived it was rancid. They refused to take back the bad food arguing that it was fine. It smelled disgusting and did not taste good at all. The waitress then brought the manager out, who continued to argue that the disgusting food was fine. Maybe their food is just disgusting, but one thing is for sure ... their service and management are TERRIBLE. Do not go there.
