Charlies is an awesome place to eat. Best boiled shrimp and fried catfish around.

OK. So I was new to this area and was told about this place. The food was really good. I live 30 minutes away so I knew if I planned to frequent this place it would be to-go orders. The first couple of times I have called my food was made in a timely manner. However, more often than not they have not even started making my order until I have arrived. I find this very frustrating when I see others who "called in" their order not having to wait a minute. This last time I got so fed up. This place has no credit card machine, they have an ATM that charges a 3 dollar fee and they say they don't take checks but I have seen on numerous occassions that they do from "select patrons" who have supposedly been there since the doors opened in the 70s. However, those people look younger than me and I wasn't even thought of in the 70's. Another thing that really disgusted me was the fact that the same people I walked in with, who got seated while I was giving my to-go order got their food and left while I was still waiting. By the way I waited almost an hour! I had enough and asked for a refund and called the manager explaining how this looks and how this is just really unacceptable and she basically said: " I wasn't aware of this because in the 30 years we have been in business no one has complained in fact they always say how good we are." I basically told her that I would take my business elsewhere because they obviously don't care about their customers and that I wasn't the only one who felt that way in their mosquito-filled carryout "lounge." Don't go to this place you will get more satisfaction doing it yourself than dealing with people who feel that they are entitled to your business and money!

Best catfish ever and great atmosphere, simple food perfectly cooked, every time we visit my husband's family in Mississippi from England this is first on the list of places we MUST visit!
