What a great place to eat! Had a really well-prepared and well-presented salmon selection on rice pilaf, with perfectly steamed vegetables. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive, without being intrusive. The host, Nicole, was professional and friendly (not at all the person described by another reviewer!)Nicole and her staff are to be complimented on making my visit so enjoyable! Have eaten at many restaurants around the U.S., Canada, and Europe -- Horizons is on my Top Ten list! Will definitely eat here again on my next trip to southeast Kansas!

Oh my!!!!! My husband just showed me this site and I am more than sorry to the person I have offended. If you are able to speak to me in person I will try to make it right. I love what I do and we try hard to make wonderful healthy food. Our staff has been with us from day one and are like family whom we love and respect. I know I wear my emotions on my sleeve and am gratetful for it. I am also grateful someone was there to remind me that from time to time it can hurt others feelings. Again- never would I ever hurt someone intentionally and look forward to not just learning a lesson from this but serving you soon. Thank You!!!!!

First I want to begin that when I was originally introduced to Horizons I would have given this place 5 stars and my review would have been outstanding! For the beginning it was great, food and service was top notch….so I believed at the time. As time progresses my satisfaction of the restaurant is slowly declining and mostly because of several experiences that just really turned me off. I now give Horizons 3 stars because that is what it usually averages out to be. The food and restaurant location get 5 stars…..the owner Nicole either gets 1 star as being so terrible or 5 stars as being really great. It really depends on what type of mood she is in and how busy they are. Sometimes she is very amiable, warm and friendly….always greeting with a smile on her face. Other times she is very rude, brisk and seems very irritated you even walked in the door. We have seen her on both sides of the spectrum. I have walked in and she has greeted me or completely ignored that I existed until she had no choice but to acknowledge the presence of customers waiting at the door. I have heard conversations that no customer should hear when she talks to her staff (like conversations regarding YOU). I have had awkward moments when I felt like the best thing to do was to leave (I really felt as if I was an annoying inconvenience!). The staff is great but as of late it seems they are busier than what the they can comfortably accommodate. This results in a hectic/frantic atmosphere which most likely means Nicole is also being unprofessional. The busier the place is…the worst the service is. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to enjoy great food and doesn't mind playing russian roulette on the type of mood the she is in. If you can ignore the sometimes uncomfortable situations walking in the door would present- then this is the place for you.

We had a wonderful Valentine's Day dinner experience here! It was our first visit and even though they were very crowded, the service was excellent and the food was delicious! And the drinks! Definitely we will return many times.

This is the first time I have ever written a review for a restaurant. The freshness and quality of the food was absolutely outstanding. Our waitress was probably the best I have ever had. This is a tremendous place to eat!
