Everybody that likes Seafood ought to go to Fairgrounds,instead of BayHaven. Alot better as far as being greasy,and they're potions are huge.

We have considered Bay Haven our best sea food restaurant. That was then but today's visit may change our minds. We drive almost an hour to get to Bay Haven. We don't mind the drive as the food quality and value for the dollar has been excellent in the past. However, today our fisherman's platter for two, $31 before tax and tip, was not up to expectations. The clams were of poor quality (broken small pieces looked like they were yesterday's bottom of the fryer leftovers) and almost nonexistent. The haddok was scarce and in very small size pieces. Coleslaw portion was very small.

We like to support local businesses in these tough times but today's visit will make the next Bay Haven visit decision very tough.

Yesterday my husband and I drove to Bay Haven to enjoy lunch. We had gone on their website and saw they were open Tues from 11:00 am. Our home is in Hampton, NH so it is a long ride. About one and half hours. When we arrived we were surprised and disappointed to see the restaurant was closed for repairs.My question is why did they not post this on their website so guests driving from a distance could plan to go another day? We have enjoyed dining there and this was our choice to celebrate our anniversary. In the future I would hope they would consider posting a closing.
