I always plan a shopping trip to Paducah around lunch at The House of Grace. The California Chicken Salad is a favorite, as well as the strawberry shortcake.

Although the menu and hours are VERY limited, it's a great place for a fresh and unique lunch with excellent service. Hours are 11-2 Mon thru Fri ONLY, but most often many of the 40 seats are filled. Menu carries about ten salad or sandwich entrees with a daily special hot dish and salad bar. (The chicken salad dishes are EXCELLENT!) The building was formerly a Pizza Hut (you can tell by the windows) but is painted a bright white inside, very clean and open feeling. In talking to Tim, the owner, we learned he's been there 9 years after coming from a restaurant he ran with his cook-book famous father, Curtis Grace. He used some of his father's recipes as well as his own. I personally have been in the restaurant business over 30 years and have never seen anything quite like it. The next time I'm Paducah I will DEFINITELY plan my itinerary so as to hit the 11-2 weekday time slot here.
