I took a short hike up to the chained rock, about a mile round-trip, and the view was worth it. There's a second overlook near the parking lot with a nice view of Pineville. The lodge has clean rooms, soft towels, and a moisture barrier on the bed, but it could use some improvements.

I had Yes idea they had thanksgiving I was so depressed my kids going every where but here and my husband said get dressed took me up on the mountain I loved it I can not express what that meant to me I'm a air force brat have not much family it reminded me when I wa little going to the base I enjoyed the people I did not see one sad face cause they was working I loved it and I love the people and the Lord for such beauty

We had lunch today and it was great. One of my favorite places to eat. The chicken, catfish was great.
We will return, scenery is beautiful.
